Based on the latest amended Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01 on the streamlining of construction permits, the classifications and maximum processing times for building permits are as follows:
1. Simple Transactions
- Includes small-scale structures such as private garages, fences, and agricultural buildings.
- Maximum Processing Time: 3 working days.
2. Complex Transactions
- These involve medium-scale projects requiring more evaluation. Examples include:
- Single-detached residential houses
- Multi-unit residential buildings
- Commercial structures like offices, retail spaces, or restaurants
- Warehouses
- Market buildings
- Maximum Processing Time: 7 working days.
3. Highly Technical Transactions
- These involve large-scale or specialized projects requiring advanced technical assessment. Examples include:
- High-rise buildings exceeding nine stories
- Specialized industrial facilities
- Commercial complexes with significant structural or design complexities
- Maximum Processing Time: 20 working days.
